Morah Hollenberg Update

Dear 6th Grade Parents,

This week we discussed the Jewish connections to Martin Luther King Junior, his values, and his legacy. We read and discussed articles containing information about various Jews who were involved in the civil rights movement (a Rabbi who spoke at Dr. King's March on D.C. prior to his famous "I have a Dream" speech, lawyers who fought to establish civil rights in this country etc.) and how Martin Luther King Junior himself was a Zionist who opposed antisemitism and shared important values with our faith. Collectively we decided it is appropriate to celebrate Dr. King's legacy and all that he did for our nation this coming weekend. I look forward to seeing you Sunday as we perform service projects in his memory and reflect on his important message of equality.

Best,

Morah Hollenberg
